Vox & Verbs: J Jupiter

So… a number of months ago I made a track called Integrity.  I just wanted to make something “different” and play with this distorted worble synth sound.  I found these hand played drum samples.  They’re just toms that sound like they’ve been struck by a hand, as opposed to drum sticks.  I really like drums that are played with the hands and fingers.  Prince used to do this on a few tracks… Kinda like the tapping in the beginning of this song. 

Anywayz… One night J came along and wrote to it and X factor was born.  The song is still being nurtured and care for, but I thought I’d share.

I never really expected it to come out so…. eerie… Every time I listen to it I feel like it should be in some TV show or on the soundtrack of a movie.  True Blood… Twighlight…

Believe it or not, we’re also working on an upbeat remix version of this song.  I like.
